The Illinois State Operated Developmental Centers Administration is requesting that all Developmental Centers in Illinois notify Guardians & Families to test upon arrival at their Center prior to taking their loved one home and/or prior to an onsite visit.
Guardians and Families are encouraged to test regardless of their vaccination status. This is an added layer of protection for your loved one.
Please call the Ludeman Center when you arrive and remain in your car.Once you are on the Ludeman Center property, drive to Building #13 where the COVID-19 Testing is available. When you arrive, call 708-283-3213. A Ludeman Staff Member will come out to your car to perform the COVID-19 Test.
May you and your loved ones Stay Safe and Healthy during this holiday season and the New Year.
The VOR – Voice of Reason is a national organization that supports the mission to continue providing and improving services for our loved ones that are diagnosed with I/DD (Intellectual and Developmentally Disabled).
There are legislative efforts going on now to reduce the services and sheltered workshops for our I/DD loved ones. VOR is asking us to support their efforts and to reach out to our federal and state legislators regarding sustaining services and workshop environments for the I/DD community.
PFLC is asking that you send your legislators a letter that states the value of these services and reducing services would cause undue harm to your loved ones – especially those that live in an ICF (Intermediate Care Facility). The Elisabeth Ludeman Center is categorized as an ICF, so it is especially important that our legislators hear from us.
Click on the link below for additional information and links to send letters to your legislators. Attached is a document that provides additional information and links for you to support the VOR effort to preserve the services our loved ones rely on.
We have a busy ‘Support Your Charity’ week ahead of us – Today is Cyber Monday – what makes this day extra special for PFLC is Amazon gives to Charities all year long! Be sure to use our Amazon Smile link to sign in to your account, and we receive a donation from Amazon.
Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday November 30th. Be sure to read our Giving Tuesday letter and support all the good work Parents and Friends of Ludeman Center does with your charitable donation – and we are approved as a non-profit for tax purposes – a win for you and PFLC!
