AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon with the same products, prices, and shopping features as Amazon.com. The difference is that when you shop on Amazon Smile, the Amazon Smile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice.  It is Amazon’s way of giving back, and it adds nothing to the cost of your purchases. Without your generous support, many of the events and activities PFLC and you provide would not be possible.  Thank you!

Ludeman Center raised to COVID-19 Outbreak Status – 11.11.2020 Update

Hello Parents and Friends,

The Elizabeth Ludeman Center Administration has informed us that there is once again a COVID-19 Outbreak at the Ludeman Center.  Ludeman Center is moved to Outbreak Status when a combined 20+ individuals (staff, supporting agency staff and residents) have tested positive for COVID-19.  At this point Staff, Supportive Agency Staff, and Residents have all been impacted by the virus outbreak.

Outbreak Status Impact on Visits with Residents

Covid-19 Outbreak Status necessarily impacts visitation with your loved one.  All in-person visits at Ludeman Center are currently canceled and on hold.

The 3 Visitation Phases at Elizabeth Ludeman Development Center (ELDC)

  • Phase 1 implemented when One or More ELDC COVID-19 Positive Tests, regardless of the source listed above.
  • Phase 2 – To move from Phase 1 to Phase 2, ELDC must have 14 Consecutive Days without ANY NEW POSITIVE COVID-19 CASES.
  • Phase 3 – To move from Phase 1 to Phase 3, ELDC must have 28 Consecutive Days without ANY NEW POSITIVE COVID-19 CASES.

Finally, Home Visits are also not allowed at this time.  When Home visits become available, ELDC will notify all parents and guardians.

Please Stay Safe and Healthy!

PFLC – July 17, 2020: Elisabeth Ludeman Center Visitation Suspension

July 17, 2020: Elisabeth Ludeman Center Visitation Suspension

It is with great sadness that the Elizabeth Ludeman Center has announced the suspension of visitation for a minimum of 2 weeks. We have some new positive staff cases not residents, however our guidance attached states that staff or residents, means we have to suspend all visitation. (See the link to the document below, Item #2).  The Ludeman Center cannot have ANY homes in isolation.  Three homes have been placed in isolation due to positive staff cases that supported these homes.

The Ludeman Center has provided about twenty Facetime and Zoom video chats in the past week and the families are loving it. Be sure to schedule your opportunity to video chat with your loved one by contacting Sandy Vanoskey at 708-283-3893 or Sandra.Vanoskey@illinois.gov.
