Protect Our Residents

The pro-active “Protect Our Residents” Campaign is our effort to legally defend the right of intellectually disabled family members and all residents to live in a fully funded State Operated Development Center (SODC) in Illinois, supported by a trained, specialized staff.

The Elizabeth Ludeman Center residents are multi-diagnosed medically fragile individuals that must have and receive 24/7 on site support from a specialized staff that insures their quality of life and services are maintained. Re-locating and disrupting the lives of our Ludeman residents to an unfamiliar environment (typically community placement) without the support of a trained, specialized staff to support the individual’s needs is a roadmap to disaster of unknown proportions.

Many agencies that provide services in a community setting continue to face financial difficulties because the state has not compensated them for their services.

Your donations are helping us continue our legal quest to keep Illinois SODCs open to support the needs of the fragile residents.

PFLC is grateful for your support of our effort to keep the Ludeman Center an active, loving home for over 400 residents that proudly call the Elisabeth Ludeman Development Center “Home”.

    My name is Sandra Keller
My son Jeffrey is in house 52
I need a copy of your paperwork that keeps Ludeman from looking I into CILA placements that cannot meet my son’s severe needs
He needs to stay at Ludeman. Sincerely, Sandy Keller
