The attached document from the Ludeman Center announces a Transition Fair at the Center on February 17, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The Center sent this letter to all guardians via U.S. Mail.  Several community agencies will be there to explain community services available to your loved one.

Greetings Parents and Friends of Ludeman Center,

Because we are all headed into the busy holiday season, there will be no Ludeman Guardian Teleconference this month. We look forward to starting fresh in the New Year, so mark your 2024 calendars with the date Wednesday, January 17^th at 1:30pm for the next Ludeman Guardian Teleconference.

Meanwhile, PFLC is happy to share what we’re involved in this holiday season:

This year we will once again be ordering pizza dinners for each home on Christmas Eve.

As in years past, the Angel Tree is once more outside the Center Director’s office. Ornaments are hung for those residents who staff knows may not receive a Christmas gift. Staff members can pick a name from the tree and purchase a gift for that individual.  To help with any ornaments that are not staff sponsored, PFLC is donating $500 to ensure every resident has a gift.  If the Angel Ornaments are all taken, that $500 is donated to a Ludeman clothing drive to ensure everyone has the warm hats and gloves needed for the winter months.

Also, we are sponsoring a formal on-site Christmas Dinner Dance on December 20th headed by the Activity Department. There will be a holiday dance in the gym and then residents in smaller groups will go, in turn, to a beautifully decorated Cafe 64 for dinner. The cook is making baked chicken, Christmas ham and mashed potatoes and gravy. We’re excited to be sponsoring it.

Town Hall Meeting at the Elisabeth Ludeman Center

On November 1, 2023 the Elisabeth Ludeman Center will be hosting Town Hall Meetings in the Gym, Building 64 for the Staff.  

There will be two sessions at 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m and 2:15 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.  

ELDC Director Timothy Montgomery has also invited all PFLC Members and Guardians to attend.

The Parents and Friends of Ludeman Organization is hosting our Fall General Meeting at the Ludeman Center in Park Forest for all Members and Friends. 

The meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. and conclude at 3:00 p.m.  

We urge everyone to attend as the Ludeman Administration and the PFLC Board will be in attendance.  We have important information to share with you about what we have accomplished as an organization as well as some very important information about Guardianship Rights regarding your loved one that resides at the Ludeman Center.   

The meeting location is at the Ludeman Center, 114 N. Orchard Road, Park Forest, IL.  We will be meeting in the Gym, Building 64.

Hello PFLC Friends, Tomorrow will be an exciting day for the residents, staff, and Parents & Friends of Ludeman Center (PFLC)! Here is what we have planned for tomorrow: Dedication Ceremony for the Statues and Memory Garden tomorrow at the Ludeman Center, 2:00 p.m. near the main entrance, 114 N. Orchard Drive, Park Forest, IL. Fall Fun Fest at the Ludeman Center tomorrow from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the campus pavilion. The PFLC Board commissioned three bronze statues to recognize and honor those individuals and staff past and present that live and work at the Ludeman Center. A High School gal’s brother lives at Ludeman.  She is a member of the American Heritage Girls Organization.   In order for her to receive the top honor of the organization called the Stars & Stripes Award she had to plan, lead, and implement a project that benefits the community.    Lizzy’s project was to create and install a Memory Garden that recognizes and honors the individuals and staff that lost their lives during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Lizzy has earned her Stars & Stripes Award!  Let’s Celebrate! The Parents and Friends of Ludeman Organization could not do all we do without you – our generous donors – Thank You!! The following two sets of questions have been sent to Ludeman to address on the call.  The second set is in the attached document:

              1.       Update on the wheelchair transportation effort.  Has the issue of availability been resolved?  If not, please give us a progress update.

2.       Update on the State-wide plans for Camera Placement in the Ludeman Homes.  What is the progress on this effort, and targeted date to begin installation.

3.       Update on the PPP Fraud by ELDC employees – Is the investigation completed? 

         What is the current count of former employees that are no longer at ELDC due to PPP Fraud, and how many are still in the process of the investigation.   

5.       Are external resources granted access to our Ludeman resident and their records without consent from the guardian? 

         How are the individuals and guardian’s rights protected regarding HIPAA and external resources access to our Ludeman resident’s files.

6.        Any additional guidance regarding guardianship and protecting the guardian rights to determine residential placement for Ludeman residents?

7.       What external resources have been at Ludeman regarding residential placement in the community, e.g. Equip For Equality, the ARC, and CILA organizations.
