The Parents and Friends of Ludeman Center Constitution and By-Laws have been reviewed, updated, and approved  by the PFLC Executive Officers and Board Members.

The 2016 Constitution and By-Laws updates will be presented at the October, 30, 2016 General Meeting  for a General Membership vote to approve the 2016 Parents and Friends of Ludeman Center Constitution and By-Laws.

In accordance with the 2003 Parents and Friends of Ludeman Center Constitution and By-Laws, this posting meets our obligation to make available the 2016 Parents and Friends of Ludeman Center Constitution and By-Laws 30 days before a General Membership vote.

   Hello, Family & Friends of the Parents & Friends of Ludeman Center!

Join us for some Fun In the Sun with the Ludeman Residents and Staff!

With your generous donations, we are hosting our 2016 Annual Summer Gala this Saturday, June 25^th at the Ludeman Center.   Come join us to enjoy the afternoon with your family and friends.

The 2016 Summer Gala details are:

Where:   Elisabeth Ludeman Center, 114 N. Orchard Drive, Park Forest, IL 60466
When:    Saturday, June 25^th from 2:30 P.M. – 4:30 P.M.

Dancing!  The Nite Lights 2-piece band will play many favorite songs for the crowd, and the Ludeman Residents really have some great dance moves.

Clowning Around!   Cookie the Clown will be entertaining the guests with smiles, laughter, and balloon characters that she makes for anyone who asks.

Treats!  We will be serving Soda, Ice Cream Cups, and Popcorn.

So, what’s not to enjoy on a beautiful Saturday afternoon?

Hello Parents & Friends of Ludeman Center!

Spring has Sprung – The trees and flowers are blooming and the grass is green!

Come out and join us at our 2016 Spring General Meeting this Saturday, April 30^th at the Ludeman Center, 114 Orchard Drive, Building 64, Park Forest, Illinois.  We will be serving refreshments starting at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting will begin at 12:00 Noon.

The Ludeman Dream Gardeners have been busy planting seeds and growing spring flowers.  The Ludeman Dream Gardeners staff will be available so you can place your order for flowering hanging baskets, herbs, other plants, and exotic flowers.  Come and support the work that the residents have been doing for spring!

Illinois Representative Anthony DeLuca, District 80, is our guest speaker.  Representative DeLuca will give us an update on Springfield happenings as well as his position on supporting the Intellectually Disabled community.

Illinois Senator Michael Hastings was called to New York on government business, and had to cancel his speaking engagement for the meeting.  He sends his best wishes and hopefully will be available to speak at one of our future General Meetings.

The PFLC Board looks forward to seeing you at the meeting!

The Holidays are fast approaching, and it’s time to place your Holiday Plant orders.

The Ludeman Gardeners have been hard at work planting and lovingly tending to the Poinsettia Plants for your purchase.  This year, there are FOUR VARIETIES of Poinsettia Plants for you to order.  There are the traditional red or white plants.  The new varieties are the Red Pom Poms and Shimmer Poinsettia Plants. We will have special guest speakers that will tell us about the services they provide for the Ludeman residents as well as PFLC President John Haley and Ludeman Center Director Glenda Corbett. We look forward to a great turnout from our members, so please attend if you’re not already booked for the afternoon.

The main fundraiser that enables us to provide fun events for the residents is our Annual Nut Sale. The Annual Nut Sale starts at our General Meeting on Sunday. We are introducing a new product, Chocolate Bridge Mix. The board members that sampled this new product gave it 2 thumbs up!

VOR Urgent Alert!

VOR is asking us to contact our legislators to “Tell Congress to Prohibit Forced De-institutionalization”.

The VOR annual convention is being held this week in Washington, D.C.  Parents & Friends of Ludeman Center has sent one of our own board members to the convention.  The PFLC Board Member will be visiting our legislators in person.  Show your support by sending Congress a message this week!
